Jim and Bon Fillpot

Jim and Bon Fillpot have been photographic artists for over 30 years. Meeting in college - Jim the photography major and Bon the art major, their marriage "merged" the two into a unique team of photographic fine artists that has endured over 35 years. Award winning artists and photographers, they are members of The Center for Fine Art Photography and share their love of portraiture and scenic photography.

The Fillpots owned and operated a full service studio for 22 years. Bon now concentrates on creating beautiful story telling portraits, spending hours with her clients before and during the portrait session to capture a moment to be cherished forever.

Their approach to floral photography is treated with the same care and intensity as their portraits. Lighting, composition, repetition of form, texture or color and background are all part of creating an image of fullness, depth and interest. One must be able to "see the light" to create a work of art.

The Fillpots explore the relationships between form and color bringing their portraiture and florals to life. Their work projects precision and a softness which makes one wonder whether it is a photograph or a painting. In a sense they are both.

Bon does all the art work on the portraits and florals that she creates. She uses her art to digitally paint her portraits and floral images creating unique watercolor, painterly renditions which are printed on European watercolor paper with professional pigment inks.

Jim's traditional approach to photography allows him to experiment with exposures and printing techniques which enhance his simplistic style. Jim has perfected their black and white CarbonTone presentations to a fine art as well.

The Fillpots have a unique and endearing artistic style. Their portraits and scenics are proudly displayed in homes and businesses across the United States, Hawaii, Japan, Mexico and France.
